Obituary

Robert A. Ostlund, 86 was born November 5, 1934 in Vermillion, South Dakota and passed from this life December 10, 2020 in Good Samaritan Hospital with his Family present.

     Robert aka Bob or Ozzie attended grade school in Gayville-Centerville, South Dakota area.  His Parents moved to Elk Point, South Dakota where he attended High School.  In 1953 he joined the Air Force, upon discharge he was employed by the S. Dakota Air National Guard in Sioux Falls.  He retired from the military with 22-1/2 years of service including years in the Navy Reserve.

     In 1966 Bob and family moved to Auburn, Washington where Boeing employed him, after 18 months he started his business Ostlund Electric retiring at the age of 79.  He was instrumental in improving 3 Building Sites on A St. S.E. in Auburn and he was a member of the Federal Way Elks, Auburn Eagles and the Auburn Lions.  His hobbies were fast pitch softball, golf and he also took pilot training on the GI bill to receive his Pilot’s License.

     In 1954 he married Arlis Granstrom, his high school sweetheart.  To that union of 66 years 5 children were born, Kris (Mark), Kevin (Pearl), Keith (Holly), Kurt (Lauri) and Kim (Bret).  Included in his family are 14 Grand Children and 22 Great Grand Children and he enjoyed their visits.

     His Parents Arthur and Florence Ostlund, 4 Sisters Donna, Mary, Betty and Sheila and 1 Brother Marlin proceeded him in death.

     He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church for many years.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Visitation was December 21st at Price Helton with Graveside service at Mt. View Cemetery for immediate Family
