Richard (Dick) Lee Turner,87,of Puyallup WA was reunited in heaven with his loving wife Patricia on Monday, November 25,2019. Richard married his sweetheart, Patricia N. Jones, June of 1952 in Yakima.
Richard was born in Yakima, WA June 22, 1932 where he resided until 1962. After graduation he worked various jobs throughout the Yakima area including working as a produce inspector for the Washington State Department of Agriculture until 1963 when he moved Patricia and his three young sons to Seattle to begin his career with the Department of Defense. Of all the jobs Richard held, he was most proud of his service in the Washington National Guard from 1951 through July of 1978. He retired from his position as a Procurement Office with Department of Defense in 1992.
In retirement, Dick and Pat were soon traveling about in their motor home with their beloved dogs always searching for an antique store where they might find a new addition for Pat's many collections or Dick's model railroad. Their young grandchildren were often seen inspecting a new treasure on display in their Auburn home.
After Pat's passing in 2007 Dick moved to a retirement community where he and his dog, Walter, met many new friends and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. A highlight of this time was his planning of "The Annual Fishing Trip" when he rented a big vacation home for a week each summer and filled it full with family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his son, Albert, parents Violette and Albert Turner, brother Gerald and sister Lola.
He is survived by sons Frederick (Judy) of Tacoma, WA and Gerald (Caroline) of Kent, WA; sisters, Gail Hammerberg (Duston) and Ardelle (Loren) Bender and brother Dale Turner (Ramona) of Tri Cities, WA; five grandchildren, Tina, Tania, Josh,Sean and Erin: and six great grandchilren.
