MARLYN JOSEPH KRAFT

October 11, 1947 - June 10, 2026

Marlyn Joseph Kraft from Auburn, WA peacefully went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2026 at VA Puget Sound Community Living Center in Tacoma, WA. His family was by his side as he ended his battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was 78.

Marlyn was born to Ralph and Lillian Kraft on October 11, 1947 in Jamestown, North Dakota. He was the fifth of seven children. He attended Jamestown High School graduating in 1965; Central College, McPherson, Kansas; and Bethany Nazarene College, Bethany, Oklahoma. He loved the Lord and developed many close ties with friends and family.

He was drafted into the military but chose to enlist to better secure his path in the army. After training, he was sent to Vietnam as an Army Intercept Receiving Systems Repairman.

Marlyn and Pam were married in 1975 and had two sons, Brad and Chris. Marlyn worked for the William Dierickx Company, an office equipment company, for over 40 years. He retired in 2012 and quickly entered into the enjoyment of owning a 1956 Ford F100 truck and going to classic auto shows. He also started volunteering to provide patient rides to medical appointments with the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery. He was recognized for providing over 600 rides and loved every minute of it.

Marlyn was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lillian, sister Carol Redlinger, and brother John. He is survived by his wife, Pam; son Brad (Erin), grandchildren Addison and Parker; and son Chris. Also surviving are sisters Dorothy Weber, Marilyn Stone, Lois (Dave) Osborn, and Mary (Gary) Prokop.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Westhill Church, 29926 37th Ave South, Auburn, WA. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
