Obituary John Jay Rice was born on May 28, 1931 in Auburn, Washington. He passed away on January 16, 2019 also in Auburn, Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Helen Rice. He leaves behind his brother Charles Patrick Rice, his sister Catherine Ingalls, his loving daughter Jane Renee Keene, son-in-law Burt Keene, grandsons Dalton and Daylen, and a host of other relatives. Some of John's fondest memories were Sunday drives with family, trips to Canada to visit relatives, having fun in the swimming pool, Sunday dinners with family, and holiday celebrations. He loved working in his garden, building rockeries and water features, reading, bible study, being a steward for his church, playing boca ball, monthly breakfasts with his cousins, and going to church. John loved shamrock shakes, he enjoyed football, baseball, basketball, high-school and college teams, and of course, the Seahawks. John will be dearly missed. Services were held on Thursday January 24th at Holy Family Catholic Church in Auburn, and he was laid to rest at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in Federal Way.
