Obituary Catherine Crossan-Vork, spouse, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many, passed away suddenly at the age of 66, at her home in Orting, Wa. Cathy will be forever missed by her life partner of 25 years, Ruth Vork, her sister Judith Caisley, brother James Dofelmier (Bonnie), sister-in-law Bonnie Dofelmier Batten (Richard), 6 nephews and 4 nieces. Cathy was predeceased by both of her loving parents, Earl & Frances Crossan and her brother Lawrence Dofelmier. Cathy was born on June 6, 1953 in Bremerton, Wa and graduated from Auburn High School in 1972. She attended Green River Community College in Auburn, Wa and Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Or. Graduating in 1991 with an AS degree in Human Services. She spent many years working with the mentally and physically disabled; as well as the Domestic Violence Crisis Line. Cathy studied at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary for two years and is remembered for her unique ability to offer prayers and administer prayers with the "laying on of hands". She was a former member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Tacoma, Wa and most recently Creator Lutheran Church in Bonney Lake, Wa. She will be remembered for her "preaching"' because it was spoken from the heart with sincerity and simplicity. Her knowledge and sharing of the Bible was captivating because of her ability to share the stories and how it related to the discussion at hand. Her faith in God never faltered, in spite of the many challenges of life. Cathy was fiercely loyal as a friend. She was loved and will be missed by many. She was a Healer by prayer and her touch with certifications in Reiki. The message she leaves for us, was tattooed on her right hand, "Grace Alone". Cathy loved poetry, leaving her own written legacy; as well as the poetry of many authors. Cathy loved music and gravitated towards music with meaning and relevance to her life. Notably "El Shaddai" by Celtic Psalms, "All I Ever Have To Be" by Amy Grant, and "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler. Cathy loved flowers; her favorite being Pansies for Remembrance. There will be a Celebration of Cathy's Life Sunday August 11th from 3-6 pm, in the Banquet Room at the Auburn Golf Course. This event will be catered.
